D-Mannitol-13C is the 13C labeled version of D-Mannitol. This oral, resistant sugar is widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries. It promotes calcium and magnesium absorption and retention through cecal fermentation and acts as an osmotic diuretic, reducing tissue edema. D-Mannitol can also enhance brown fat formation, improve insulin effect, and reduce blood sugar levels by initiating the β3-adrenergic receptor (β3-AR), PGC1α, and PKA, which convert white fat cells into brown fat cells. Additionally, it helps maintain osmotic pressure between plant cytoplasm and culture medium and protects cells when the cell wall is weakened or removed.
